In their final warm-up match before the start of the FIFA World Cup (June 11-July 19) in the United States, Mexico and Canada, France face Brazil in a glamour friendly. Weakened by absences, the Brazilians will have their work cut out against the French side, the 2022 World Cup runners-up, who comfortably topped their qualifying group. This international break could also be Kylian Mbappé's chance to become the French national team's all-time leading goalscorer.

Elsewhere, Italy are on tenterhooks. Having missed out on the last two World Cups, the Squadra Azzurra still need to secure their qualification, starting with a match against Northern Ireland. It's enough to describe this match as "the most important of my career", according to Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso.

And then there was the fine performance of Frenchman Dorian Godon, who remains the overall leader of the Vuelta a Catalunya and winner of the third stage.
